Accelerating the energy transition

My name is Erwin de Moel, co-founder of MeterInsight. Our mission is to help companies towards a sustainable future. For most of my career, I have worked in the energy sector, executing IT consultancy projects with the goal of accelerating the energy transition.

In my previous job at Siemens and Accenture, I was responsible for project implementations at large international energy companies to improve the balance in their energy grid. We used the Siemens software suite called EnergyIP and DEMS (Distributed Energy Management System). Both are recognized by Gartner as the market leader in Meter Data Management and Distributed Energy Management products.

Many organizations are deploying new smart meters and IoT sensors every day. This provides new opportunities to enhance and optimize your operations. These meters and sensors generate a huge increase in incoming data. One meter with a one-minute data granularity creates 525.600 data points per year! Imagine multiplying this number by millions of meters and sensors. Managing all this data and performing data analysis in a scalable way becomes an increasing challenge for any business.

That's where we come in: to maximize the value that this growing amount of data can bring to your business. We are excited about Microsoft Azure cloud technology and believe that it can empower organizations to improve their decision-making processes. With this goal in mind, we created MeterInsight Energy Monitoring. We want to make it easy for businesses to become more sustainable by saving energy and money.

Our ambition is to become the most advanced energy monitoring platform in the Netherlands within two years, in collaboration and thanks to co-creation with our customers and partners.
